The Resignation of Benedict XVI
A Carnival Jest
In these days, much is being said about the new book by Msgr. Viganò, in which the authoritative spokesman for the FSSPX writes that all «postconciliar popes are in a state of schism with the papacy» and considers them «enemies of the papacy». Personally, I consider John Paul II and Benedict XVI to be saints, and I strongly advise Viganò’s anti-papal and anti-council adversaries not to read this article. I have already addressed the issue of Benedict XVI’s resignation in my 2025 book, but since the Chair of Peter continues to be occupied abusively amid the total indifference of cardinals and bishops—including Viganò—it is by no means superfluous to revisit the topic.
