On Consecrated Hosts Given to Dogs
Abomination in the Diocese of Chur (Switzerland)
A Swiss bishop absolves 3 women who gave consecrated hosts to dogs, denying sacrilegious intent. For A-M. Valli, it is a sign of a Church that has lost the sense of the sacred: the Eucharist profaned, no excommunication, only a liturgical retreat. Faith in the Real Presence vanished, Communion reduced to a "gadget".
