Fatima and La Salette
Today is the anniversary of Our Lady’s apparition at La Salette, France, high in the French Alps, on September 19, 1846, to two cow-herding children, Mélanie Calvat and Maximin Giraud.

The Holy See’s recent statement on the episcopal consecrations of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX) continues to spark reactions within the Church. Dom Alcuin Reid, a Benedictine monk, liturgist, and one of the most recognized voices in the traditional liturgical movement, publishes a reflection on AdVaticanum in which he calls for a renewed effort at reconciliation and warns that the Church cannot resign itself to seeing a new schism take root.
