A retired German priest, Father Winfried Abel, found himself in hot water for speaking the truth and acting like a Catholic priest.
Abel, an 87-year-old priest of the German Synodal Diocese of Fulda, is in trouble after publicly condemning Germany’s annual “Christopher Street Day” (CSD) celebrations (Pride celebrations) and saying that Christians should see the recent Islamist terrorist attack on July 25 at Berlin’s Pride event as a call to repentance.
At the event in question, an assailant drove a vehicle into participants before allegedly continuing the attack with a bladed weapon. Tragically, one woman was killed and dozens of others were injured. German authorities described the attack as having an Islamist motive.
Abel wrote a letter to the Fuldaer Zeitung ahead of Germany’s Pride season, describing the events as manifestations of a society that has abandoned Christian morality and correctly referring to the parades as displays of indecency and moral disorder.
Fr. Abel explicitly condemned the atrocious attack but said Catholics should not deny its spiritual dimension. He argued in the letter that the faithful should see it as a wake-up call, describing it as “a signal from heaven” and “a call to reflection and repentance.” In other words, even at his ripe old age, the octogenarian was fulfilling his priestly duty of speaking the truth in love.
In the letter, he also, again correctly, voiced his concern over a civilization that, while rejecting its Christian foundation, is increasingly facing threats from growing militant Islam.
So, who came down swiftly and hard on poor old Fr. Abel? Was it an organization like Antifa? Some radical LGBTQ advocacy group? The liberal government?
Nope. It was the so-called “Catholic” hierarchy.
Yes, folks, while they continue to call you crazy for pointing out that the emperor is naked—or, more accurately, that the Synodal Church is not the Catholic Church—they also want you to believe that fake prelates who defend the sodomite agenda are actual Catholic shepherds.
The limp-wristed enemies of Christ who constitute the Synodal Diocese of Fulda responded almost immediately with a public statement rejecting Fr. Abel’s remarks.
Diocesan officials insisted that the retired priest’s views “do not reflect the position of the diocese or its leadership” and reiterated that Christopher Street Day seeks to promote the dignity of every person and oppose violence and exclusion. Anyone who can bear to look at a Pride parade for longer than 10 seconds will know that it is anything but dignified and mocks not only moral decency through its perversion, but God Almighty Himself.
The diocese’s homo-clerical hierarchy, who, of course, do not believe in the One True Triune God, also firmly rejected any suggestion that the Berlin terrorist attack should be interpreted as an act of divine judgment or intervention.
This courageous act by the 87-year-old was not his first, as he has long been at loggerheads with the German “church” over its open participation in events that celebrate the sin that cries unto heaven.
For several years, he has objected to diocesan involvement in Pride celebrations, arguing that such participation represents a departure from perennial Catholic moral teaching. In previous statements, he described the parades as evidence of a society that had lost its sense of modesty and objective moral order. In 2025, he also publicly cut ties with his diocese in protest of its embrace of Fiducia supplicans.
On the other hand, obstinately persisting in their sin, several German “bishops” used the occasion to reaffirm their backing for the events.
“Bishop” Ludger Schepers, who serves as the German Bishops’ Conference delegate for LGBTQ+ issues (may God have mercy on their souls), declared that attacks on “diversity” are attacks on human dignity and urged continued commitment to public expressions of inclusion. Schepers, of course, couldn’t care less about the only One who possesses actual infinite dignity, nor about the rights of His Church.
“Archbishop” Heiner Koch of Berlin, another hater of Christ, Catholicism, and lost souls, lamented what he described as the destruction of “such a joyful celebration,” while “Archbishop” Stefan Heße of Hamburg mocked Christ by saying that Christopher Street Day serves as a visible reminder that every person deserves respect and dignity.
Globally. Frequently. Consistently. As we have seen over time, these are not isolated exceptions but the very nature of the false church claiming to be Catholic.
Come out from among them. Flee from them. Do not compromise with them. Do not negotiate with them. Resist them unto blood and pray for their salvation—and for the salvation of the millions they are leading astray.
